After spending the afternoon with these guys, I couldn’t wait for their wedding to roll around. The ceremony and reception was held at their home, hidden by tropical trees and the hinterland. Tahlia mentioned something to me about a Mexican Day of the Dead theme… I said ‘cool’, not realising quite how awesome that sentence really was.
They wanted to create an atmosphere for their family and friends that was super fun and colorful – the words ‘mega party of awesomeness’ come to mind. They achieved all that (no easy feat) while still keeping a connection with nature that was all around us on the day. Shooting weddings like this makes me jump up and down on the inside (and outside) and proves that you really can do your own thing. Thanks to my brother from another mother Ben Murphy who second shot with me on the day – your powers have increased young Jedi.
Thank you Tahlia & Chad. High-fives and group hugs.
